10 habits for a happy Morning Routine

A great morning routine can help people in various ways. It can help people of stress, anxiety, productivity and lead to a happy day. It makes quite a difference to ones mental health and especially during times when fast paced life has become the inevitable truth of our lives.

  1. Get a good night’s sleep – Sleep is one of the most important activity of the day. A proper and sound sleep ensures of a good health. To make sure you have good sleep one should avoid use any kind of gadgets an hour or two prior to sleeping. We all know it’s difficult since most of us live our lives through social media apps these days. But to gain something, you need to lose something. I know, I know we have all heard it…. But let’s apply it.

Sleeping before 10 pm makes you win half the battle.

  • Wake up without alarm – Since I have already highlighted the ‘so much’ importance of sleep above, I won’t go ga-ga about sleep once again. You might start feeling is it a sleep blog? Well but if you sleep on time and your body gets enough and sound sleep of 7 to 8 hours your body will automatically feel fresh. Thus, you will wake up on time without needing any external assistance. Waking up without alarm allows your body to adjust to the new day organically without any interference.
  • Gratitude – Gratitude is an activity we use to remind ourselves about all the good things happening in our lives. It is really a good idea to start your day with gratitude since it gives a positive start to the day and mind. This can be just a one- or two-minute activity before we get out of the bed and start hustle for the day.
  • Drink a glass of lukewarm water – As we all know 70% of human body consists of water, so we should drink plenty of water throughout the day for proper functioning of the body. But do you know if you drink a glass of lukewarm water on empty stomach it can relieve you from so many problems like constipation, flushes out toxin, strengthens immune system, helps in reducing weight.
  • Meditate – Someone asked Buddha what he has achieved doing meditation? Buddha answered I don’t know what I have gained but I have definitely lost stress, anger and anxiety. Meditation is a great way to keep yourself relaxed and gives a tranquil mind. It results in enhanced mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Exercise – Did I hear – let’s skip this!? Skipping this won’t help you in the long run. It is like how our elders keep pestering us to save money from younger days. Similarly, if we start investing in our bodies since younger days it will take us ahead in the long run. Exercising in the morning improves focus and productivity while making your mood better.
  • Positive Affirmations – Mornings are the best time to determine how you want the rest of the day to go. Starting your day with positivity is a great thing and to top it if you start with some positive affirmations then nothing like it.  Positive affirmations helps you in the long run from stress, anxiety, depression. Over time it instils confidence, positivity and ambition to your life. Various studies have proved its immense impact on people’s lives.
  • Plan your day – Starting your day without any schedule will lead to lot of chaos and unwanted wastage of time & energy. Transitioning your mind from personal life to professional life could be challenging so its always a good idea to make checklist for both. This will help in prioritizing tasks and thus making a day productive.
  • Eat Seasonal Fruits –  Fruits are my personal favourites and especially desi fruits which are seasonal. Our body system requires to flush out toxins and clearing of the digestive system first thing in the morning. Fruits are the best way to do that cleaning and helps in weight loss too. One should eat at least 2 to 3 fruits in the morning at regular intervals. Go grab those fruits for tomorrow morning!
  1.  No Gadget – Gadgets have become an absolute necessary part of our lives. We just can’t function without them but at least our mornings should work without them. Infact avoid setting alarms on phones and try listening to your body clock.

Mornings can be good but you can make it great by following a fixed routine. You don’t need to put everything in your plate at once, go slow and take steady steps. Once you start enjoying your routine, you will look forward to your mornings. Starting your day with by spending time for yourself before others will make your day a lot more productive and peaceful. It all starts from you!
